New Compact Bizhub Models

bizhub 4750 Konica Minolta has released four new models that are designed to be fast, compact and ready for productivity. These models are ideal where space is limited. This space saving design looks good in any environment, from small offices and branch locations to schools, clinics, government service bureaus and retail operations.

Here we have two black and white models, the bizhub 4750 and the bizhub 4050. The bizhub 4750 prints and copies up to 50 ppm in B&W, with 1200 dpi resolution that adds a more professional look to corporate communications, business reports, educational materials, student records and healthcare documents. The bizhub 4050 provides print/copy output up to 42 ppm. Both models let you scan and share information in both color and B&W, directly from your bizhub control panel. A standard reversing auto document feeder lets you load originals and scan both sides of each page without slowing down your work to flip and reload multi-page documents.

bizhub 3850 Last but not least our two color models, the bizhub c3850 and the bizhub c3350. The bizhub C3850 delivers up to 40 ppm in both color and B&W (bizhub C3350: 35 ppm). High-quality 1200 dpi resolution makes all your communications come alive... reports, presentations, even marketing materials with photos, charts and complex graphics. And your cost per page will be lower than with stand-alone desktop laser printers, which are often under utilized and can sit for long periods in standby mode. To move information faster in branch and retail locations, small offices, home offices and a wide range of workplace environments, the bizhub C3850 and C3350 can provide advanced scan capture functionality right from the control panel as well.

If you are interested in these new compact models please give us a call at (559) 733-9354 for a quote!!!

Big things are coming!

KM Product Expo 2012Myself, Johnny (Service Manager), and JD (CEO, Owner) just spent an entire week in Vegas at Konica Minolta's Product Expo learning about and demoing all of the new equipment coming out soon. We're happy to say that big things are coming!

KM Product Expo 2012Konica Minolta is rolling out a marketplace for new MFP systems that will work very similarly to your smartphone marketplaces. You will be able to download apps to check up on stocks, the weather, post to your social networking communities, and more. Not only are there going to be many social tools and other features, but Konica Minolta is also rolling out many apps to make it easier for you to manage your documents - including connections from your copier directly to google apps including gmail, docs, and more!

The new copiers are going to feature multi-touch interfaces with a completely revamped interface that makes them easier to use and much more intuitive!

Warning for Mac users!

Warning!

Apple has recently released an operating system update for OS 10.6.8. Many users are reporting that upon upgrading, their printers are not working anymore.

I recommend not upgrading until a fix is posted for this. If you upgrade and are unable to print Cline's cannot help you as it is a problem with the underlying "CUPS" printing system on the Mac. See what a commotion this is causing online

Feel free to contact Jamie in the IT department with any questions or concerns

Update- Here is a link to an article that discusses the problem as well as a possible fix in detail:

http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20074154-263/inability-to-print-after-installing-os-x-10.6.8/

From the article:

A number of Mac users have run into a problem after applying the OS X 10.6.8 software update that was released yesterday, in which their printers have stopped working. The printer will still be installed, but print jobs fail and the printer is stuck in a paused state. People experiencing this problem may see an error in the system console (shown in the Console utility) that mentions a problem related to "backend" such as the following:

printer-state-message="/usr/libexec/cups/backend/lpd failed
Backend returned status -8 (crashed)
Printer stopped due to backend errors

If this has happened to your system after applying the latest OS X 10.6.8 update, try the following options to see if they fix the problem:

Run general maintenance routines

Try booting the system into Safe Mode (restart while holding the Shift key) and then running a permissions fix on the boot drive using Disk Utility when in Safe Mode. In addition, you might try using a maintenance tool to remove system and user caches. This can be done with the utilities mentioned in our General Maintenance guide.

Reset the print subsystem

If maintenance routines do not help, go to the Print & Fax system preferences, right-click the printer list, and select the option to reset the printing system. Your printers will disappear, and you will then need to set them up again.

Reinstall the latest Combo update for OS X

If resetting the print system has not fixed the problem, try reinstalling the OS X update to see if that fixes the problem. You can do this by downloading the OS X 10.6.8 Combo Updater, then booting to Safe Mode and running the installer from there. Consider doing this after running the general maintenance and printer reset routines on the system. Once the update has been applied, reboot and set up your printers again.

Are you a member of a GPO?

Konica Minolta GPO Healthcare ConferenceJD (Owner), Johnny (Service Manager), and myself (IT Director) just got back from a great informational seminar regarding all of the benefits and uses of having a Bizhub in a medical office! From HIPAA compliance, to EHR conversion, we have the multi-function printer/scanning/fax machine to take care of you.

With the new laws that have begun being phased into the realm of healthcare regarding privacy and digitization, you can't afford not to start now. In fact there are many government incentives in place for hospitals to receive up to $16 million for being in compliance!

That being said, you can take advantage of a new MFP (or even a fleet of them if you're looking into a system-wide refresh for HIPAA compliance!) for significantly lower prices if you're a member of one or more of the popular GPOs. Contact us for more info!

Temporary Office Closure in Memory of Jim Cline

The offices at Cline's will be closing early on Thursday July 1st at 12:00pm to attend the funeral services and to remember and honor the life of Jim Cline.

If you need IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE, please use the form located on our service page. Otherwise, we will be glad to assist you during our normal hours of operation starting back again at 8:00am Friday July 2nd. Thank you for your understanding.

Jim Cline30 year Visalia resident and business owner James Marshall Cline died June 24, 2010. He was 73. Known to all simply as Jim, Cline is survived by Sharon, his loving wife of 52 years; daughters Sharyl Holm and Jamie Cappelli; sons-in-law David Holm and Paul Cappelli; grandchildren Jenifer Rold, Ryan Holm, Jacob Holm, and Steven Holm; great grandson Jack Holm; brother Rev. Dr. William Cline; and sisters Janice Bristow and Juanita Jones. A spirited and outgoing man, Cline was quick to share a laugh or a joke, yet had a heart for his sharing his faith, teaching, and leading which touched many lives through the years and served him well both personally and professionally. Generous with both his time and resources Cline, the owner of Cline's Business Equipment, actively served the community through both civic and charitable organizations which included more than 20 years as a board member of the Kaweah Delta Hospital Foundation, leadership roles in Rotary International, and most recently, as Administrator and board member for the Samaritan Center, the local free medical clinic for which Cline had a special affinity. Those who know Cline know unequivocally that the greatest joys in his life were his wife Sharon and their family with whom he enjoyed an exceptionally loving relationship.

A celebration of Cline's life will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Ave. in Visalia on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 1:00. A viewing will be held at the same location Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Cline's memory to the Samaritan Center, 200 NW 3rd Ave., Visalia, CA 93291.
